Alexander Misharin

First Deputy CEO, JSC “Russian Railways”
(Supervises development of high-speed traffic, international cooperation)

Alexander was born in 1959, graduated from the Ural Electromechanical Institute of Railway Transport Engineers with a degree in Electrification of Railway Transport (1981), he received a second (economical) higher education in the Ural State Academy of Communications, Ph.D. in economics, doctor of technical sciences (1997).
Alexander worked as First Deputy Minister of Railways, Head of the Sverdlovsk Railway, Director of the Department of Integrated Infrastructure Development of the Transport Ministry of the Russian Federation, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation, Director of the Department of Industry and Infrastructure of the Government of the Russian Federation.
From 2009 to 2012 – he worked as Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region.
From December 2012 – he worked as First Vice-President of JSC “Russian Railways”.

In November 2017, Alexander was appointed First Deputy General Director of JSC “Russian Railways”.
