François Lacôte

Honorary Director, SNCF 

SNCF R&D Director. During that period, SNCF was involved in EU funded Projects.

Senior Vice-President at ALSTOM Transport in charge of the Technical development (Chief Technical Officer). Co-director of the World Record Program (574.8 km/h) in April 2007. During that period, he lead the AGV development (next generation of TGV operating in Italy).

During his tenures at SNCF and ALSTOM Transport, François Lacôte has been at the forefront of railway innovation. He is a worldwide recognized expert. While at SNCF, he chaired the French-German high level group on Railway Innovation.

In 2012, he received the UNIFE-CER European Railway Award as the designer of the TGV and other Railway developments, and in 2014 the UIC Researh and Innovation Award.

François Lacôte is a Professor at the Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, teaching Railway System Integration. He is the Professor in charge of the Railway Master in France. Francois Lacôte has been the Key Note speaker at International Conferences (e.g. World Railway Research Conference).

François Lacôte is retired since the beginning of 2014.
